Dancehall sensation Byron Messia has made his debut on the Billboard R&B charts with his catchy summer hit “Talibans”, which has entered the R&B/Hip-hop Airplay chart at #49.
Janelle Monae’s “Lipstick Lover”, featuring a sample from Mad Cobra’s 1992 gold-selling single “Flex”, has advanced one position to #27 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. In the meantime, it has slightly dipped on the Hot R&B Songs chart, moving from #18 to #23. However, it has shown better performance on the Adult R&B Airplay, inching up from #9 to #8.
In the UK Singles chart, Messia’s “Talibans” has shown a slight increase, moving from #34 to #33. Conversely, “TMO (Turn Me On)”, a new rendition of Kevin Lyttle’s “Turn Me On” by Luude and Bru-C featuring Lyttle, has slipped from #42 to #44.
On the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, driven by streaming and sales, the timeless classic “Legend” by Bob Marley and the Wailers continues its impressive run, having spent 180 nonconsecutive weeks in the #1 spot.
