Dancehall King Beenie Man Reveals Cover Art, Star-Studded Tracklist, and Drop Date for New Album ‘Simma’

Renowned as the undisputed ‘King of the Dancehall’, Beenie Man is all set to impress his global fan base with the announcement of his 17th studio album, ‘Simma’, slated for release on August 31, 2023. This eagerly awaited album serves as a successor to his 2016’s offering, ‘Unstoppable’, and brings forth a fusion of dancehall, reggae, afrobeats, and drill music.

The ‘Simma’ album is a testament to Beenie Man’s artistic prowess and versatility, as he ventures into diverse music genres while maintaining the core authenticity of his sound. “‘Simma’ will showcase my versatility as an artist where I have explored new genres while keeping the music authentic. ‘Simma’ signifies that I am still here and doing what I love best, which is music,” he stated in an official media release.

Sharing his personal journey on Instagram, Beenie Man revealed the special significance of the album, crafted during a difficult personal time after the loss of his mother.

The upcoming album is a medley of 19 distinct tracks, including ‘Simma’, ‘King’, ‘Sharpshooter’, ‘Supa Star’, and more. The album’s first single ‘Supa Star’, a collaboration with Sean Paul and Anthony Red Rose, is the album’s first single and is scheduled for release on July 28 with its music video. This marks the exciting reunion of Beenie Man and Sean Paul, since their successful tracks ‘Bossman’ with Lady Saw in 2002 and ‘Greatest Gallis’ in 2014.

‘Simma’ is a grand spectacle of collaboration, featuring stars such as Busy Signal, Patoranking, Giggs, Ms. Banks, Mya, Hoodcelebrityy, Dexta Daps, Shenseea, Bunji Garlin, Shaggy, Popcaan, Dre Island, Morgan Heritage, Charly Black, Louie Culture, Stonebwoy, and Backroad Gee.

The album is produced by Beenie Man’s MD Music Group, in collaboration with a remarkable group of producers. These include respected names such as Frankie Music Productions, Jerome Wright, Andre ‘Suku’ Gray, Dutty Rock Productions, Walshy Fire, Rohan Smith, Richie D, Jeremy Harding, Tony Kelly, Money Matters Entertainment, along with internationally acclaimed Teddy Riley and The FaNaTiX.

Earlier this year, we listed Popcaan, Buju Banton, and Masicka as having the three most anticipated upcoming albums in 2023. However, considering the unparalleled star power, remarkable production credits, and the diverse range Beenie Man’s upcoming album ‘Simma’ presents, it could potentially surpass the anticipation for these three artists’ releases.

With ‘Simma’, Beenie Man is not just maintaining his reign in the dancehall arena but reasserting his unstoppable influence. The album is sure to “simmer” the competition and solidify his ongoing domination in the realm of dancehall music. As we eagerly look forward to the album drop, one thing remains crystal clear – Beenie Man’s music reigns supreme, and he is unstoppable indeed.
