Dancehall Star Valiant Signs with Sony Music UK

Dancehall star Valiant has joined the ranks of Sony Music UK, alongside other Jamaican sensation Koffee. This signing underscores the longstanding global appeal of dancehall music, a genre that has consistently captivated audiences worldwide.

Sony Music UK celebrated this addition with an Instagram post, coinciding with Valiant’s MOBO Award nomination in the ‘Best Caribbean Music Act’ category. The label’s post also acknowledged their other MOBO nominees, including Central Cee, Headie One, Strandz, Doja Cat, and Travis Scott.

Valiant’s latest EP, “A Gift From Me to You,” released on December 18 under Sony Music UK and licensed from Valiant/Diplomats, includes six tracks like “Polygamy,” “Search,” “BUDDUM,” “Heart Attack,” “Birkin,” and “Set Fi Mi.” This EP showcases his unique contribution to the vibrant dancehall scene.

Joining Sony Music UK’s roster, Valiant is now in the company of global stars such as Libianca, SZA, Tyla, 21 Savage, DaVido, Wizkid, H.E.R., and Victoria Monet. This highlights the label’s commitment to a wide range of musical genres and talents.

Hailing from rural St Andrew, Valiant, born Raheem Bowes, made an impressive entry onto the music scene in late 2022 with hits like “Expensive,” “Mad Out,” “Speed Off,” and “North Carolina.” His partnership with Sony Music UK is not only a significant achievement for him but also reaffirms dancehall music’s robust presence and influence in the international music arena.
